1973 - 2013 - 40 Years of Caterham

I hadn't thought about it when placing the order but it is quite nice to be getting a Caterham in their 40th year.  Today they announced a limited edition of 40 cars in a Ruby Red livery and various other snippets.  Had I not already ordered one (and bagged some Draper tools), I would have gone for this.

Ride Height

I have been having many chats with people about ride height and ground clearance.  Also Piston Heads has a great community for Caterhams and people seem quick to respond on there.

It seems that the sump will be 80mm ish above the ground and the chassis will be ~120-140mm above the ground.  Found some great shots on the Piston Heads website showing the ground clearance.

The Colour

Here is a pretty close picture of what is on order.  I like I guess everyone else, have been around the houses on colour.  It's my car so I will have it my colour, or, I love the classic colour and would never get tired with it.  I guess for your first Caterham this is the safe option.

Welcome to my CSBB

Welcome to my Caterham Seven Build Blog.  Don't expect much to happen straight away as the parts are not due until November 2013.  I have asked for a late 2013 delivery date so I can build the car over the winter period when the weather is not up to much.

I plan to put as many pictures and discoveries on here as possible and hope that it serves useful to others doing Caterham Builds of similar specifications.
